Bags in their original packaging.

I like to hunt where a truck or quad won’t go; so I typically end up having to carry my animals out in a pack, even if they do end up close to a road. I typically have to quarter the animal, because I’m so little I can’t even drag a deer by myself! With the way I hunt, I have adopted the gutless method for field dressing my animals, and I typically go through a few game bags. When the opportunity to test the Wild Country Game Bags came up, I took it! I can never have too many! When they arrived, they came folded up neatly in a sealed plastic Ziploc bag. This was nice, because they could go straight from the mailing box to my truck and/or backpack; there was no need to un-package them!

I’m used to using and packing the thin cheese cloth bags that tend to rip if a stick snags them or a bone pokes through. The Wild Country Game Bags are tough and durable. I received both the large game bag and the large quarter bag to test. I used the quarter bag on my husband’s cow elk this year, and it easily fit all four quarters, the backstraps, the tenderloins, and the neck meat with room to spare! The large game bag was used on my whitetail buck I got later that day; I didn’t realize exactly how big it was until I pulled it out of the plastic bag it came in. You could easily fit a full elk in it hanging. It worked great for helping keep the dirt off while skinning and quartering the deer; we were able to roll the deer onto one side so we could work on the other side and not worry about dirt sticking to any exposed meat. I could even stick the quarters in the bag as they came and still had enough of the back to keep the buck on it.

The quarter bags are small enough to throw in your pack, and it wouldn’t take up too much room. The large bags would be extremely handy for hunting camp. You could fit multiple animals in one bag quartered, or if you prefer to hang your animals whole you could put the bag around it and tie the top so it would keep the bugs off but still lets it hang.

Wild Country Game Bags is a family owned and run business.
