I was pretty excited when I received my Prois Galleann rain gear, I had a ten-day Stone Sheep hunt coming up and needed some rain gear for the trip. My first thought when I opened the package was how incredibly lightweight the gear was! I’ve had other rain gear, and it was nowhere near as light as this. I also noted that while every other type of rain gear I have ever seen has zero stretch to it, the Galleann gear has tons! This stretch actually saved me from ripping my pants twice, on my hunt. During my hunt up north, I basically lived in my rain gear all day while around camp, hiking, and glassing. At one point, during one of our many hikes I took my rain jacket off, the outside was wet from the saturated vegetation and the inside was damp from condensation, I quickly checked my shirt, and it was dry! Definitely a plus! The pants took a real beating walking through the wet vegetation and bush whacking most of the time we hiked. I caught my pants on some blow down twice and heard a loud snapping sound, I cringed but kept going. Once we got to our destination I quickly checked my pants over, no holes or rips in stitching; it was the sound of the fabric stretching and snapping back to place after the branch let go. I was so relieved, that was one of my worries when I got the gear was whether it would withstand the abuse of sheep country, being how light the fabric is. It did withstand the sheep trip, and I am very impressed with how well it held up and kept me dry. Another plus to the gear, with it being super lightweight, you don’t get nearly as warm when you are hiking like in other rain gear. I love the double zipper on the pants; when I was getting too warm hiking but the vegetation was still wet, I just unzipped the top zipper to my knee and instant ventilation! The only thing I would change on the jacket is maybe some pit zips for ventilation while hiking. Other than that, I LOVE the Galleann Rain Gear and definitely recommend this gear to any lady!! Whether you hunt, fish, hike or just enjoy being outside, this gear is perfect for you.
