We have had the worst weather and power outages in the last few months, this includes a tornado that struck the northern end of our property and another that touched down just south of us. During this time, our power was off quite a bit, and even when you thought it should be OK, the power would go off for

no apparent reason. I realize this was probably due to limbs, trees and wires that had been damaged in the storms.

I had picked up the Midland ER310 E+ Ready Emergency Crank Weather Radio during Shot Show, which is from their Emergency Solutions line. I never expected to have to use it as often as I have! During the first tornado, none of my daily electronics were charged, of course! I couldn’t even call the power company to report the electrical outage, or to report power lines down. I started to worry, when I remembered my Midland Crank Radio. I started

Listening to the local radio station helped pass a long and dark night, and kept me from feeling all alone, thanks to the Midland ER310.

cranking, and soon the clock came on the radio. Before long, I was able to connect my cell phone and get enough juice to call and report the outage. Soon I had the radio turned on, and I was able to determine the worst of the storm had passed. It didn’t take long to realize that I had gotten of easy, there were many in the path of the storm that lost a lot. For the next 2 day the radio kept me in contact with the rest of the world, and became my constant companion! With lots of cranking I was able to charge my phone, use the light on the radio, and alleviate going stir crazy by listening to the radio, not a bad trade off at all!

Since that time, I have made a serious effort to keep all of my electronics, including the Crank Radio fully charged at all times, but I have to peace of mind to know that I have the ability to charge them myself. Having to crank the radio also gave me a purpose when I was sitting in the almost complete darkness.

Cranking the Midland ER310 is easy, taking a selfie of yourself cranking, not so much!
