Sitka Gear Subalpine for Women ~ Diane Hassinger

I was introduced to the new Sitka Subalpine Gear for Women at SHOT Show in Las Vegas. It takes a lot for me to get really excited about new gear, but Sitka succeeded! In the short presentation I attended I liked everything I saw, felt and couldn’t hear ( rustling from the fabric). I received a light jacket that day, and wore it the rest of the trip. I love what they have done!

When the new women’s products arrived, I asked my granddaughter to use and abuse the products, and get them out into the woods. Even though they are designed for big game, we had our Spring Turkey season opening up, so Sarah suited up and headed out to the woods. It did not take long for her to shoot her gobbler, and head back in! According to Sarah “The extra layer on the seat and knees kept me dry while I was sitting at the base of the tree. The Optifade Subalpine pattern, while not designed for Spring Turkey, performed flawlessly. The turkeys never knew I was there. Being as I use my crossbow, I need to be able to move without restriction, and the design and cut of the clothing permitted that easily. I can’t wait to get out deer hunting with this!”

The new Traverse Glove and a nice lightweight comfortable covering for your hands, that can do triple duty as your gloves, when worn alone, or as a base layer under a heavier glove, or as a shell when worn in conjunction with another lightweight pair of gloves. They feature the conductive thread technology in the index finger and thumb, that allows the wearer to use a touch screen while hunting. What better way to send out a photo from the field! The new headband works with a pony tail and keeps your eyes covered and warm.

The new Jetstream Headband is the perfect headwear to keep your hair in control on those cold mornings in the field. The windstopper membrane keeps the wind at bay while the micro-grid fleece backing keeps you warm. Sarah prefers the headband over a hat, since her long hair has a tendency to escape a pony tail or barrette. The 4 way stretch panels  do not hinder your ability to hear the sounds around you. The MSRP is $30.00 and the ordering information can be found at

Deer season will soon be upon us, and it is clear to see why Sarah will be using her Sitka Subalpine Gear for Women. Not only are the clothes great for hunting, but allow for everyday wear, and are fashionable to boot! There is no need to wear ill fitting and nonfunctional hunting clothes anymore!
